See Life through a New Lens

Robert is an author who owns a horse farm where he boards and cares for horses on his 11 acre property in a beautiful mountain valley of Utah. He writes to educate and inspire people to look at themselves and life through a new lens, particularly people who are struggling with identity and differentness. This new lens is a product of his autism, yielding him a unique perspective that shifts readers’ paradigms and turns the dominant narratives in society on their ear.

His life experiences include: childhood abuse, dyslexia, being gay, autism, marriage to one woman for 35 years, raising five beautiful and successful children, starting and running a profitable horse farm business, divorce, and devout Christian faith. While some of these things may not go together in the eyes of society, to Robert they are all part and parcel of the dreams he had for his life that he achieved through what he calls the eyes of innocence. Turning the negatives of life into positives, and viewing life as a journey of authenticity and grace is his life’s work. His greatest dream as an author is to share that with his readers.

What Being an Author Means to Me

Being an author is a way to validate a devaluation of my youth. This is a way to reclaim my value, my worth, my self-expression…all which was denied me as a child. I may have mentioned that when I wrote my memoir, the horrors of my childhood abuse were revealed. I talked in riddles according to my mother, and yes, I did, but those riddles are my own language. By writing I take those words and share them with you in a way that can help others reclaim their own value and be careful not to treat our children in a way that denies them their value.

Writing heals fractured minds, fractured relationships, and fratured lives…and the truth is that just because things are fractured doesn’t mean they are broken. In my books and writings, I show you how to repair these fractures so that you and the ones you love can live more freely, express yourselves in your innocence, and allow yourselves to be happy and successful.
