Eyes of Innocence

“I wish I never had you.”

My mother said these words to me more times than I can count.

I thought it was normal.

I learned it was not.

This is my story.

The Wolf Cycle

We all grew up on the story of the three little pigs where the wolf was bad and the pigs were naive victims of his power. Only one pig built a house that could withstand the wolf’s attacks. We’ve all been conditioned to think that the pig that used brick was the only one that was successful. In this 21st century update of the story, author Robert Bautner looks at the allegory with fresh eyes and insights that teach, inspire, and encourage us to be true to ourselves, build better relationships, and appreciate the challenges of the wolves in our lives. The three little pigs show us how to outsmart the wolves by understanding our personalities and making decisions within the circle of innocence. Prepare to challenge everything you thought you knew about wolves, the three pigs, and the stick, straw, and brick houses they built…and have your mind opened to new ways of living in innocence, integrity, and appreciation.

A Long Goodbye

A Triumphant Sequel to Stop Your Crying

For Robert, being married under God, for eternity, meant everything. That eternity was cut short. His wife began a long goodbye six years into their marriage. He saw it in her eyes, her actions, and felt it during intimacy. A silent barrage of ‘I should have never married you’ swept through him. His mother had routinely said, “I should never have had you” and now his wife, “I should never have married you.” His childhood was a long goodbye of heartaches and distress, and now so was his marriage. The memories and the emotions of both demanded to be released. Not an easy task, especially when one is autistic, where it is difficult to understand those who are not…and where it is difficult to be understood. Yet this isn’t a tale of desolation. Instead, it’s a story of transformation, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. From the heartrending struggle to comprehend his reality, emerges an understanding of the profound tenderness of his soul. This tale exposes the delicate balance between the past and present, the pain of leaving behind and the power of moving forward. Thirty-six years later, the papers are signed, and a new chapter for Robert begins. This is that story. It is A Long Goodbye.
